Position Summary Information

Job Goal

Provide effective instruction and carry out assigned related responsibilities.

Qualifications

Must have and maintain current Iowa RN license. Minimum of two years RN experience required, at least one year of which must be in the provision of long-term-care facility services. Must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults, or have experience teaching nurse aides. Must be able to meet Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals qualifications and the credentialing requirements in Northeast Iowa Community College’s Quality Faculty Plan (QFP). Must communicate clearly and professionally and possess strong clinical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction for Certified Nursing Assistant as courses are assigned.
2. Teach courses in accordance with objectives of the course outline as set forth by the Department of Inspections and Appeals.
3. Meet all scheduled class, lab and clinical commitments as promptly as possible.
4. Attend all scheduled part-time faculty orientations and updates unless excused by the Director of Nursing.
5. Emphasize to all classes the importance of prompt and regular class attendance.
6. Keep classroom, lab, and clinical attendance records on all students.
7. Prepare and submit accurate grade reports.
8. Submit class materials in a timely manner.
9. Promptly report repairs needed for the classroom and equipment.
10. Communicate with other members of the CNA faculty team.
11. Represent the college in a professional manner in all settings.
12. Adhere to responsibilities as outlined by the Department of Inspection and Appeals.
13. Perform additional professional responsibilities as assigned.
