Position Summary Information

Job Goal

This position is responsible for the successful operations and logistics for transportation, trades and teacher endorsement programming, all set up, and pre/post class closure of programs. Will provide a cooperative, flexible, and enthusiastic approach when carrying out job duties and working with members of the College staff, with students and clients, and with the public.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. The position will work directly with the The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

1. Oversight of the operations of transportation programming that includes High School Drivers Education, Moped, Motorcycle, and CDL in the Calmar District.
2. Oversight and implementation of the Bus Driver Refresher and New Drivers STOP training district wide.
3. Oversight and programming of Coaching Authorization programming district wide.
4. Oversight of operations for Calmar district Trades and Industry programming and special events including the Tri-State Dairy Expo and Farm Safety Day Camp.
5. Oversight and programming of Life and Leisure programming in the Calmar and Decorah District.
6. Work with program managers to operationalize and define logistics of programming.
7. Assist program managers with program marketing and inside sales to fill class seats and boost enrollments including cross selling, upselling and promotion of online options.
8. Develop organizational communication tools to communicate with instructors and participants before and after programming including follow up of instructor pay and financials.
9. Notification of instructor and students for class cancelations.
10. Secure room arrangements and data enter class information into Lumens Software.
11. Handle all catering requests for internal BCS programming and assure timely payment for internal catering services for programming at the Wilder Business Center.
12. Work closely with administrative assistants to prepare class packet which includes, pay sheets for instructor, roster, and evaluations.
13. Meet and greet customers and Instructors the day of the class and provide excellent customer service.
14. Order necessary supplies for catering needs
15. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree required. Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, enjoy working in a fast paced environment, excellent public relations skills and an outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive personality. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and comfortable with electronic communication. Excellent organization, detail, and customer service skills are essential. Must possess the ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other internal and external partners to create a positive, successful programming district wide.
Strong interpersonal skills; personal flexibility and creativity. Demonstrated management and/or community organizing experience. Excellent public relations skills. Knowledge of and experience working with computers preferred. Three years of coordination and/or education experience required.

Essential Functions


Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel.
