Position Summary Information

Job Goal

Responsible for assisting Entrinsik Informer Team and user support for institutional reporting tools, Ellucian Colleague reporting, and related reporting tools. Assist in training and decision-making related to
Ellucian Colleague system patches and updates. Responsible for scheduling and assisting in new employee orientation to Ellucian Colleague system. Assist in providing Help Desk support. Assist in providing new employee orientation to computer and phone system as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
District-wide Ellucian Colleague System and Entrinsik Informer Support
Maintain current knowledge of Ellucian Colleague system, Entrinsik Informer and related reporting tools to assist users across the College, and to contribute to CIS decision-making regarding patches and system updates for NICC.
Assist the NICC Entrinsik Informer Team.
Provide assistance to NICC staff members in building and maintaining queries and reports from the Ellucian Colleague system. Provide new employee training for reporting in Ellucian Colleague.
Backup Colleague Support Specialist
Provide backup for Colleague routines including problem resolution, patch management, security management, related meetings, and management of external peripheral interfaces (including datafeeds).
Schedule and assist in the training of new employees with approved access to the Ellucian Colleague system. Schedule and assist in the training of existing staff members when Ellucian Colleague system changes make re-training necessary.
Provide assistance to staff members producing documentation for Ellucian Colleague functions and procedures and collect and archive all NICC Ellucian Colleague documentation.
Backup Helpdesk.
As needed, answer calls to the college Computer Help Desk, with primary responsibility for Ellucian Colleague-related calls.
Determine the nature of problems, log the details of problems, help users resolve problems whenever possible, and refer problems to the appropriate CIS staff as required.
Track problem resolution progress; keep in contact with the users who reported the problems and log solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Associate degree in computer technology, computer operations, or equivalent relevant experience.

Essential Functions

Requires work involving: Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling less than 1/3 of the time; sitting, gripping, reaching, talking or hearing over 2/3 of the time; lifting up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time.

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).

The job may risk exposure to indoor environment and noise.
